Who is Mowdy?

Lance Mowdy is a gifted vocalist and country singer/songwriter whose musical journey began early and continues to evolve with purpose and authenticity. With a powerful voice and natural stage presence, Lance first gained attention as a songwriter for Two or More as well as a vocalist and keyboard player, showcasing his versatility. 

Spending much of his youth learning guitar and honing his craft, Lance landed his first recording contract immediately after graduating high school. His early recordings—“Hero,” “Our Father,” “He’s There,” and “Narrow Road”—earned him growing recognition within Christian music, where his heartfelt delivery and faith-driven songwriting resonated with audiences nationwide. Years of touring followed, establishing him as a compelling live performer.

After stepping away from the road to raise his sons, Lance felt the pull of home—and of country music—calling him back. As the son of a cattle rancher and a proud member of the Chickasaw Nation in Ada, Oklahoma, his country roots run deep. The Chickasaw Nation’s rich tradition of storytelling, passed down through generations, has played a defining role in shaping his voice as a songwriter and artist.

That return marked the release of his album The Home Place, a deeply personal project that pays homage to his heritage, family, and the values that shaped him. The follow-up album, Mowdy, delivered a more current and energetic sound while continuing to reflect on family and fatherhood. Songs like “Full Circle” and “Stuck” highlight Lance’s vocal range and emotional depth, while honky-tonk favorites “They Talked About Us” and “Thinkin’ About You” showcase his love for classic country storytelling and dance-hall energy.

Today, Lance continues to expand his musical reach with The George Strait Experience, a full-scale tribute project that honors one of country music’s most influential artists. Blending authenticity, respect, and world-class musicianship, the show celebrates the timeless music and legacy that helped shape modern country—while remaining firmly rooted in Lance’s own voice and identity.
